Lectric Library will be sharing activities and resources for the families and caregivers of “littles” – K-2s primarily.

This is emergency remote learning. It was not planned for. Most kids and families have not had the opportunity to be prepared for this change in learning. And yet, here we are, everyone doing their best to make this work. —A.J. Juliani

This is a pretty crazy time to be at home for the youngest learners in formal education especially with the move to the unfamiliar territory of remote “school”. Many of the teachers are new to online teaching and learning too. Districts have hastily arranged to make resources and professional development available which is a big help. However, many educators are themselves learning to learn in this new environment in addition to handling entirely unfamiliar and unexpected family demands.

These posts tagged “home” and “K-2” will be curated lists of links to resources with an emphasis on STEM and reading activities that are educational and fun, along with tips for keeping the learning momentum up.

This first list is massive. It demonstrates the vast range of great free resources available. It is humbling to discover the generosity of thousands of concerned folks out there who  contributed to making this material available, in most cases without having any idea that there would come a day when there would be a critical situation when these resources would be invaluable.
