Engineering is everywhere. Most of science as we know it wouldn’t be possible without engineering. Engineering is applied science. Engineering is the designed and built stuff that scientists use to discover new things about the natural word. Engineering is problem solving, finding ways to use resources, invent new ways of doing things, making difficult informed choices to make the world a better place.
Teaching engineering as a separate subject rarely happens in K-8, but there are opportunities everyday to point out engineering and integrate some engineering basics as real world examples and stories in every subject. Here are some resources to help.
