AI and lesson planning

Lesson planning with AI: Save time and get ideas

  • Part 1: 10 ways AI can help us plan lessons better and faster
  • Part 2: A workflow: Breathe life into content standards
  • Lesson Example 1 – Elementary Reading

Sounds crazy but this can work. The article steps through a detailed process for using AI – specifically ChatGPT for creating a lesson plan and provides specific examples of the application of the process. What is particularly interesting is that you don’t have to know some parts of the deliverable – AI already knows all of that and can provide the additional details.

This is going to be a significant help for educators creating lesson plans for delivery in an anytime anywhere learning experience. Include the criteria for the device features (or lack of) and these will be taken into consideration when the outline is being generated.

We are looking to work with educators to come up with a basic library of lessons that can be delivered remotely with little or no assistance. Initially, these would be the basics for literacy – reading and writing with very minimal cell phone technology. The device features may be limited to audio only and may be just a handheld storage device, with content updated from a direct link to a provider / library. If exchanging text is available, the lesson deliverables can be expanded.

We are also looking for educators who would like to participate in a Professional Learning Network (PLN) or Community of Practice (COP) to help with the development and outreach promoting and sharing these innovative “anytime anywhere learning experiences”.
